Membership privacy overview

The Movement uses the least customer data needed and keeps every source and decision traceable.

What the program uses

Shopify customer ID is the canonical identity. The program may process verified email, marketing-consent status, qualifying order amounts, imported Etsy order identifiers, membership status, rewards, and owner-approved adjustments.

Invitation-only access

Invitation-only status, benefits, codes, and performance information are visible only to the linked eligible customer and authorized owner accounts. They are not published on general membership pages.

Etsy matching

An Etsy record is automatically linked only when its normalized email exactly matches the signed-in Shopify customer’s verified email. Names, addresses, and handles are never enough for an automatic match.

Security

Integration credentials belong only in protected server-side settings—not browser code, source control, CSV files, logs, or chat. Raw imports are protected, and audit exports should minimize personal information.

Your choices

Unsubscribing stops newsletter-dependent messages without revoking membership or previously issued credit. Shopify data access and redaction requests are handled through required privacy workflows.
